Under the name Laurelle Brooks, she worked as a model doing pictorials in and on the covers of local and national magazines along with national commercials in Chicago, Illinois. In 1986 she was asked to be a contestant in the Fox Television show Dream Girls USA with Ken Howard as the host and Andy Gibb as one of the guest judges.[1] In 1989 she moved to Los Angeles, California where she guest starred as Allison a naive high school cheerleader on the NBC Universal show Hunter (U.S. TV series), the episode City Under Siege, part 2 was one of the most memorable episodes of season 5.[2][3] This was followed by a role in the featured film Pretty Woman directed by Garry Marshall in 1990 as the night desk clerk where among other scenes she shared the opening hotel scene with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.[4][5] That same year Bruce Hornsby chose her to be the lead in his music video for his song Across the River from his RCA release A Night on the Town. On the song Across the River Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead joined Bruce Hornsby and The Range and played quitar.[6] In 1991 she had a guest spot on the NBC Universal daytime drama Generations as the character Dede. Later under the name Laurelle Mehus she appeared as Heidi in the 1994 featured film Exit to Eden which was also directed by Garry Marshall.[7][8] A number of her scenes from Exit to Eden are shown in the Exit to Eden trailer including a scene with Dan Aykroyd when he arrives on the island.[9][10] The movie Exit to Eden and Laurelle Mehus appear in the following books The Rosie O'Donnell story by James Robert Parish (p. 270), The Directors Take Two By Robert J.
